The Graduate Hotel was the best choice we could have made, it absolutely enhanced our 9 day stay in New York. It is a beautiful modern hotel, with spacious rooms, all the comforts, a great bathroom and air conditioning (it was really hot weather in July). Great restaurant and lobby. Breakfast was always a great start to our day full of plans and experiences - with granola, yoghurt, fruit, juice and coffee - just enough. A big plus was a breathtaking view of Manhattan, every morning and evening. Excellent connection to downtown NY (the tramway was a bonus), we were everywhere in a few minutes. Fitness in the hotel, swimming stadium in the neighbourhood. Beautiful walks on the island in the evening after a busy day in museums, galleries, walking in the city, East River from both sides, very calm, simply oasis in New York. The top experience for us was the F.D. Roosevelt Memorial in memory of polio victims (I travelled with my sister who is a polio victim). The service at the hotel reception was very pleasant, always friendly and very helpful. If I ever go to NY again, then only to this hotel.

The hotel is really very nice. we had a perfect stay. Everything was functioning perfectly well. The room was spacious and had a great view. The Reception dit a good job. Thank you! We slept very well because of light proof curtains and the quiet situation of our room. The roomservice lady was very helpful and did a great job. The rooftop bar is worth a visit. wonderful view and relaxed people. (we were late in the evening). The island itself is a quiet harbor after a day in the city. There is also a very good connected subway station on the island, about 5 min. from the hotel. The tram is also a good possibility to reach the island. The first transport to the hotel can get a bit tricky. Some taxi drivers don't know very well the way and will ask for higher prices. Therefore, fix the price with the driver before going. From or to Newark, we paid 130$ for a standard taxi and 160 for a private limousine, which is correct for 2 persons and a lot of luggage. It will take you about 80/90 minutes.

The hotel is unique with plenty of books behind the front desk and a huge guy holding a light. It's cool and in the best location. So glad I booked, being away from the city center on an island in a much slower more peaceful area. I would definitely stay again. The front desk staff were ALWAYS kind, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious enough for us. The lady who cleaned our floor (who did not clean our room) always asked if we needed towels etc. The hotel gives the option to book room cleaning service which I love, we really did not desire to have any cleaning over four days. The only negative was the restaurant. The food wasn't good. We only had breakfast and every morning there was a shortage of something. The egg sandwich was yucky, there is no nicer way to put it. But the staff was very friendly and responsive. Just next time I wouldn't do the breakfast add on. It was a rip off to be honest. Every morning, we walked away paying extra 🤷🏾‍♀️ made no sense to me.

This hotel is a very gem, one of the best I've ever been. It is located in the best part of Roosevelt Island, with an incredible view on the south east of Manhattan and Queens. It's also convenient to reach Manhattan from here, you can choose between the subway and the tramway (only 5 minutes ride to 2nd Avenue). It's very a pleasure after been all day in the crowd of Manhattan to come back to this peaceful island, without losing the chance to see the beautiful skyline of New York, in fact all of their rooms have the view exactly as you can see from their pictures. The hotel has also some services like the restaurant or the panoramic bar at the top. The view from there is incredible but the cocktails could be better. The staff is friendly but never intrusive. In the morning you can also have a free coffee or a tea in the lobby. Lastly, we paid what we expected without any hidden fee or cost.

This is time I booked 2 hotels during my stay in NY. Because we flew to Newark airport. I booked my first hotel (Hyatt Hotel) at exchange place. Then we moved to our 2. hotel - Graduate hotel. To my surprise, this hotel is so cool. I will recommend everyone, who comes to visit NY to take this hotel. The reaseons are: Because this hotel is located on a little island, therefore the surrounding is very quiet, not like centre of NY, which is so crowed and so noisy. By trim, which is only 2 min. away from hotel, we could arrive at Manhatten (59. street) in few minutes. The staffs are al very friendly. The room with view to skyline is so beautiful! If you take the similar room in Manhatten, you will pay more.
