The hotel is really very nice. we had a perfect stay. Everything was functioning perfectly well. The room was spacious and had a great view. The Reception dit a good job. Thank you! We slept very well because of light proof curtains and the quiet situation of our room. The roomservice lady was very helpful and did a great job. The rooftop bar is worth a visit. wonderful view and relaxed people. (we were late in the evening). The island itself is a quiet harbor after a day in the city. There is also a very good connected subway station on the island, about 5 min. from the hotel. The tram is also a good possibility to reach the island. The first transport to the hotel can get a bit tricky. Some taxi drivers don't know very well the way and will ask for higher prices. Therefore, fix the price with the driver before going. From or to Newark, we paid 130$ for a standard taxi and 160 for a private limousine, which is correct for 2 persons and a lot of luggage. It will take you about 80/90 minutes.

This hotel is a very gem, one of the best I've ever been. It is located in the best part of Roosevelt Island, with an incredible view on the south east of Manhattan and Queens. It's also convenient to reach Manhattan from here, you can choose between the subway and the tramway (only 5 minutes ride to 2nd Avenue). It's very a pleasure after been all day in the crowd of Manhattan to come back to this peaceful island, without losing the chance to see the beautiful skyline of New York, in fact all of their rooms have the view exactly as you can see from their pictures. The hotel has also some services like the restaurant or the panoramic bar at the top. The view from there is incredible but the cocktails could be better. The staff is friendly but never intrusive. In the morning you can also have a free coffee or a tea in the lobby. Lastly, we paid what we expected without any hidden fee or cost.

Perfect hotel to stay at for a 5 night trip to New York. Yes it is outside Manhattan, but I believe this is a bonus. The rooms are far more spacious because the area isn't as congested as Manhattan. Roosevelt Island is a quiet peaceful retreat from the business of Manhattan, very clean (albeit the duck mess, worth the sidestepping for the surprise of seeing nature in a trip to NY!). Had a Gyros wrap from a Mediterranean takeaway on the island which was great too. The Hotel itself is excellent, very clean and quiet, Staff were extremely friendly and polite, very helpful on check-in. The Panorama bar provides excellent views of Manhattan at night from a distance, a unique experience that you wouldn't get staying in Manhattan. The views from the room were also great! You may be worried about travel, but the F train runs regularly from the Subway station a short walk away, and we personally made great use of the cable car service as it was generally a bit quieter than the subway and again provided unique views travelling at sky level through the skyscrapers into Manhattan.

I feel like I have discovered the best kept secret to visiting New York and I'm almost reluctant to share it. Roosevelt Island isn't a place I'd heard much of, it flies under the radar but it's the perfect location to be very close but not in the thick of the city. You can admire the skyline from your bed (in silence!) we could see the Empire State and Chrysler. Getting there is a few stops on the F train or the delightful Tram 🚡 alongside the Queensboro bridge. The island is safe and peaceful, it has a goose sanctuary and the Louis Kahn Roosevelt memorial which is a lovely place to spend an afternoon - check closing time but it is free to visit. A cocktail at the hotel rooftop bar (over 21s only) is another good way to round off the day. We'll be back!
